GATE Program The purpose of the Tustin Unified School District GATE Program is to provide gifted and talented students with an instructional program that meets their unique and diverse educational needs. Please click here for TUSD GATE Program Information and Resources 300 South C Street Tustin, CA 92780 The purpose of the GATE Program is to identify students with abilities well beyond grade or age expectations, and to support their instructional program by establishing how students can receive differentiated learning experiences within the classroom, opportunities for enrichment, and social-emotional support. Edison identifies eligible students for the GATE program through testing beginning in third grade. Once identified, students are clustered together within general education classes, and receive differentiated instruction and assignments within the core curriculum for their grade level. After CDC and TUSD guidelines allow students to return to their schools, the GATE department we will be testing TUSD students K through 6th grade to determine student eligibility to receive gifted services in the TUSD GATE program for school year 2021-22. For the convenience of families with incoming kindergarten students, TUSD is encouraging parents to proceed with kindergarten registration. Please note that in order to register for Kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year, your child’s birthdate must fall between, September 2, 2015 and September 1, 2016.
